Training and Support
The Teach For Ghana Fellowship begins with an intensive, 6-week residential Training Institute before you begin teaching, followed by on-going training and support throughout the two years.
The Training Institute will provide you with the skills and knowledge you need to enter the classroom. Your training will include:
Educational theory and pedagogy
Classroom teaching experience
Personalized coaching and mentoring from an assigned Leadership Development Manager
Networking opportunities with like-minded leaders
Connections to Teach For Ghana’s key supporters and the Teach For All global network.
On-going Leadership development
We know that teachers have to be leaders. Engaging, motivating, guiding and inspiring young people would be a challenge for any leader in any sector and teachers do it every single day. Your ability to lead in the classroom will make you stand out in any future career.
Throughout the Fellowship you will be supported by a Leadership Development Manager and subject mentors within your school. They will provide regular training sessions covering all elements of classroom management and subject pedagogy to ensure your success and ultimately, success for the students you serve. Through additional workshops and coaching we will build your leadership capacity beyond your classroom, into the communities we serve and in preparation for your future career.
